Political Polarization

Happiness is a lot like food. Just like there are certain foods that provide sustenance, give us energy, and help us live and grow; there are specific things that make us happy.

All of us have an inherent desire to be part of something bigger than ourselves. This is why communities band together to accomplish great things, people donate their hard earned money to religions and causes, and why societies have built glorious structures and edifices still standing today. But what happens when people don’t have something to be part of?

One of the greatest lines from Thomas Jefferson’s Declaration of Independence is where he states that we all have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. This basically means that we should be free to live our lives and pursue our individual path to happiness.
